Be Outspoken

Be Outspoken, and loud be your voice.
But let your words be wise,
and gentle by choice.
And if you should be mistaken,
then accept that fact with grace,
be humble, and in your humility
learn from your mistakes.

Seek not to be proven right,
nor reject what another has to say.
Always question your understanding,
and learn with each passing day
that you are nothing more
than someone else’s perception of yourself,
and perception is a rule of law
from which there's no escape.

So learn to shape that perception
as a sculptor moulds his clay.
Or as an artist paints his picture
so another can see his way.
Step outside, and look within,
and ask if you are happy with what you see
then think of all there is in this world,
and all that you could be.

Remove words from your vocabulary like
hate, or jealously, or greed.
For these are petty emotions
for which a pure heart has no need.
Be open, and in your openness,
learn to love all that you see.
For every day brings miracles,
the least of which is you or me.
