Godly Decant

The son of Apollo smiled at me my heart melting
to the sad lament of a one sided forbidden desire.
Chisel etched features, statuesque in movement,
imagination fans the flame of passions fire.

"hello", an unexpected word softly spoken it's
force a hammers blow that suddenly leaves me reeling.
A Curiosity? maybe, yet destinies road lies untraveled
and time may yet unravel these unrequited feelings.

For mortal man cannot compete with the Gods
in the temple where the Gods themselves hold sway.
So here on the steps I'll stand, and proffer you my hand,
wondering if you'll take it in yours some day.
